For Christy Luo, the founder of Celebritips, this partnership is about so much more than a retail launch. It's deeply personal.
Growing up, Urban Outfitters was a kind of sanctuary. During her college years, she visited the UO website almost every single day and made weekly cab trips to the nearest mall just to walk through its doors. Not for a discount. Not for convenience. Simply because being there felt like being somewhere that understood her.
"It was such a safe space for me," Christy shares. "I remember wanting to try on every piece of clothing, spending hours and hours in the store. Some of the cutest pictures I still have from my college self are wearing pieces I picked up from UO."
Those same college years were also when her love for nail care took root. As a math major at a quarterly school—a schedule that meant two midterms and a final every three months—stress was a constant companion. Amid the pressure, one ritual became sacred: getting her nails done every three weeks, without fail.
"Looking at the designs on my nails during classes was such a dopamine hit," she says. But at $130 a visit, it was a luxury she stretched to afford. Even now, she'll tell you: it's still a lot of money to spend on nails.
That tension—between wanting something beautiful and not being able to justify the cost—quietly planted the seed for what would eventually become Celebritips.
"When we started Celebritips, looking at the beautiful designs we created come to life, I often had the thought: how lovely it would be if a brand like us existed when I was in college."

"Launching at UO is such a full circle moment to me," Christy reflects. "To now be part of that world—it means everything to me."
